Installing and Configuring Honeywall CDROM

Booting Up
Start
the Honeywall Virtual Machine and boot it with Honeywall CDROM. Boot
loader with The Honeynet Project splash screen should appear. At this
point the system will go into a pause, letting you interact with the
installation process. If you press the Enter button, the system will
overwrite the existing hard drive and begin the installation process.
Hit Enter to install.

Once the
installation begins it is a fully automated process, there is no need
to interact with the the installation from this point on.

After the installation is complete, the system will automatically reboot. When it reboots, alter the boot order (to hard drive first, then CD) or take the CDROM out to prevent another install cycle from beginning. After the system reboots, your installation is complete and will be presented with a command line login prompt. Your hard drive now has a minimized and hardened Fedora Core 3 operating system with Honeywall functionality. At this point you can login and begin the standard configuration process. The Honeywall comes with two default system accounts, roo and root. Both share the same default password honey, which you will want to change right away. You cannot login as root, so you will have to login as roo then su -.
